Local Attractions

At 45 meters (148 ft) tall, The Great Buddha of Phuket is the third-tallest statue in Thailand. It is made of concrete and covered with Burmese white marble. Sitting atop Nakkerd Hill near Chalong, the glorious panoramic views of the Southern part of the island will definitely leave you breathless!

No trip to Phuket is complete without visiting Phuket's most important and revered temple. Wat Chalong has been extending a warm welcome to visitors for over a century. Locals come to pray and Westerners come to learn something about Buddhism.

Karon Viewpoint (formerly known as Kata viewpoint) is one of the most frequented viewpoints in Phuket. From here, it is possible to take in views of Kata Noi, Kata Yai and Karon beaches. Located between Nai Harn and Kata Noi beaches, the viewpoint is busy most days of the year and is a staple of many tour itineraries.

Sarasin Bridge is a bridge that connects the mainland of Phuket and Phang Nga in southern Thailand. It is known as one of the most beautiful bridges in Thailand, with an unforgettable history. Building of the bridge began in 1951 and it officially opened on July 7, 1967.

Go behind-the-scenes and discover how the Chalong Bay Rum Distillery uses traditional French distillation techniques to craft their award-winning rum from freshly pressed sugarcane. The interactive distillery tour takes about 30 minutes, and includes a rum sampling session and glass of Chalong Bay Mojito.

Probably the island's most photographed and perhaps best-known location, Promthep Cape (or Laem Promthep) is the name of the rocky headland than juts out into the sea at the far south west of Phuket. It is Phuket's most southerly point and is a picturesque view point known for its stunning sea views, especially at sunset.
